ASSESSMENT

Assessments are generally scheduled for 1 - 1.5 hours. Charges vary, depending on the type of assessment, and they may include:

  • Time spent in session: For example, if we are together one hour, you are charged $150. If the appointment takes 1.5 hours, the cost will be $225. Click here to see what is completed during an assessment. An informal consultation record can be completed by the SLP during the session, upon request.

  • Analysis time: For example, reviewing video or audio recordings (e.g., TOCS or PROMPT), or scoring/ analyzing a standardized assessment tool (e.g., TILLS or DEMSS).

  • Report writing time: If a report is requested, or required to support an application for Program Unit Funding (PUF) or an assessment at the Infant and Preschool Assessment Service (IPAS) at the Glenrose, the family will be charged (extra) for report writing time that takes place after the session. These reports can take up to 1.0 - 2.0 hours to write.
    Please note: reports are optional, and they will be sent to families after payment has been received for the extra time spent.

Baseline believes in the power of play, and all goals targeted will be functional. We aim to make sessions fun and motivating for your child.

*Baseline offers 30 minute, 40 minute, 45 minute or one hour treatment appointments. You are charged for the amount of knee-to-knee time spent together. To break this down:

  • 30 minutes = $75.00

  • 40 minutes = $100.00

  • 45 minutes = $112.50

  • 60 minutes = $150.00

COVERAGE/INSURANCE

Private speech and language services are covered by many extended health insurance plans. Many employers’ benefit plans provide coverage, up to a certain amount, similar to massage therapy or physiotherapy.
